Black Sheep Riot - "Motherf*cker" (piano ballad)

Something mellower than my usual, a minimalist lyric video + piano ballad. My music is usually quite energetic, but on occasions it goes on the sad side too...

Song: Ardour, Reaper, Audacity.

Video: Kdenlive

In the mix I went for an "old cassette" kind of feel. Also, for the vocals I tried for the first time using two piled up compressors and I think it's a keeper, I love the way it tames the sound...

Something useful that I found in Kdenlive is that when you create a "title clip" (a screen of text that you can move around and apply effects to as if it were a video, and use it for the lyrics for example), the clip name changes to the text you write inside; before noticing this, I usually cloned one of these clips, renamed it, then opened it to modify the text for the next chunk of lyrics. That step of renaming was, thus, unnecessary, because Kdenlive does it automatically.

Any chance of uploading your music elsewhere too? Apparently I need to allow Google scripts or something in order to use Youtube. Setting up a Bandcamp account takes all of two minutes..

Oh wait, I see your signature now :)

Thank you for checking out my music... My Bandcamp site is a bit outdated, it may take a while until I release this song cycle there because I intend to to do it as a record instead of singles... Here are other sites where you can find the audio, and also I will try to find some alternative for the video. Thank you for the useful feedback, too...

I listened to your tracks on Reverbnation. Fun stuff, although I do think your voice needs a bit more rawness/aggression in it, but that's just my personal preference. Do you play all instruments yourself?

Very nice, like the lyrics a lot and it is good to work with different styles.

As an experiment, combine this with your "usual" hardcore/punk stuff? I think it would be awesome!

MusE DAW running on Debian 11 Testing/XFCE4.

@Impostor:
Thank you for listening. I really don't know what to say about the rawness/aggression thing... Here and there a song demands of me some yelling, but I'm a sucker for good melodies, what can I say, maybe I'm old fashioned... But lately I've been working on my grit so who knows what will come out of it in the future...

@Oscillator:
Glad you liked the lyrics. Yeah, it would be a cool idea to mix it up with some complex orchestration... Unfortunately at the moment the lack of equipment limits what I can do, but I'll move to some more elaborated stuff in the future, hopefully... Thank you for listening...
