Springtime!

Post by OccinticLady »

Hi all,
Spring is back! So I have let myself go...
The setup is like simple:
- The intro is dominated by Zynaddsubfx (strings and the silver bell)
- SooperLooper helped me in the beginning playing the silver bell...
- Then...I let the Korg M3R out of the cage with the Airmarimba...
- Somewhere in the middle, the Korg Monologue joins in...
Enjoy! And please, gimme feedback...thanks, thanks and thanks :D

It is so cool to see this evolve live! Thumbs up!

A bit of Close contact (that Steven Spielberg movie) theme vibe! :)

That pad is very nice. And the contrast to the wooden blocks is nice also.

Maybe some kind of "other thing" happening, a change of harmonics would have been exciting, but I don't know, part of this kind of music is the repetitions.

One thing I have sometimes tried is to decrease the amount of brightness overall in a song such like this, to give it a bit more of a distant feeling. And a tad more reverb overall, especially on the pads. Might be something to try, at least.

Nice overall!

MusE DAW running on Debian 11 Testing/XFCE4.

Hey hey Melissa, this is a beautiful track with a definite scent of spring in the air. I enjoyed the balance between the wide pads and the focused rhythmic elements. The airmarimba is a great addition to the sound. A nice surprise! You create a good space there, emotionally and erm... spatially. :)
Best wishes, Jeanette

Thanks, glad you liked it. The airmarimba was a contribution from the Korg M3r, time to put that thing to good use from now on...

I think it has a strong Hollywood vibe, this one! And the marimba (?) even stresses that more. I think you have a talent for doing something sonically rich in very few notes!

Funny note: when the square wave riff starts, I hear a riddim. That's probably not your original intent but I think it gives character to the piece
