With Ardour and VOCALOID - Part 2 -

Post by Hiroki Futami »

https://youtu.be/2YSReFsM5FM

Hello or good evening.
I've made a new Rin Kagamine song following December's.
I used Ardour as in the previous song.
I also added new plugins, and used airwindows', Robin Gareus', and Invada's plugins.

I also added English subtitle correction with the help of Deepl. But, "How can I translate this so that it is understandable in English? ...." I've been struggling a bit with this, so there may be some oddities. (XC
The lyrics have a dark atmosphere, though.

Really well done!

Appreciate the lyrics! And the rain sounds.

Is the guitar sample-based? Sounds really good.

Thanks for sharing!

MusE DAW running on Debian 11 Testing/XFCE4.

Thanks for listening, Oscillator!

I hope I got the meaning of the lyrics right.

I played the guitar and bass myself!
By the way, the effect on the guitar solo is not a plug-in, but a tape delay I made using a reel-to-reel tape deck.

The drums are a Black Pearl drum kit, and the ambient in the back is Vital.
(I'm using Vital to the fullest. lol)

The song is nicely written. From my (limited) knowledge of Japanese, the translation is very accurate, so there is no need to worry. The guitar solo is well done, and I like the sound of the tape delay.

I've also recently found out about Robin Gareus' plugins. They're really lightweight compared to Calf or LSP.

I make music as Tenaba! Bandcamp

Thanks for watching, Tenaba!

I'm glad I could translate it properly. DeepL is too great lol.

I wanted to make the guitar solo even more soothing since the song is very moist. I'm glad I worked so hard on the sound!

Robin Gareus's plug-ins are really nice and light.
I like the audio plug-ins, but the MIDI plug-in set is very useful and my favorite. :D

Thanks for listening GMaq!

I tried to create a dark ambient rock (sort of?) song with dark lyrics and a moist atmosphere! :D

I'm finally getting the hang of mixing with Linux and Ardour after the second song! Thanks!

I'm working on an album that all revolves around rain, so I also appreciate the rain effects in the background
Really nice song! One thing I'd suggest is to add the sustain pedal to the piano, especially at the beginning, where it feels a bit too dry and staccato-ish.

Thanks for the listen, Rainmak3r!

The theme of this song was rain and decadence.

I see, a sustain pedal. I'll try it next time I use the piano! Thank you very much!

Hello Hiroki, thanks for sharing this. This is a nice song. It is very interesting to hear Vocaloid2 and be able to compare it. Judging by other examples of Vocaloid you have done a very good job.
I like the instrumentation and the trist rain in the background. It's a very evocative setting.

Sounds lovely and well mixed. Do you have Vocaloid running in Wine?

I agree that the song has a mysterious world view. lol
It's a song about dissatisfaction with the world, or rather, about how hard it is to live.

Hello. Thank you for watching!
It seems that there aren't many Vocaloid P's in Japan who are using Vocaloid on Linux to create songs.
I've known that Vocaloid runs on Wine for more than 10 years, but at the time I had no choice but to use Windows because my PC environment and software were out of control. (Ardour didn't support MIDI in the past, either. lol)

Thank you very much.
My goal was to create a song that would make you look behind you when walking down a dark street.

This is only my second work on Linux, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it.
I'm running Vocaloid on "Play On Linux".
I'm using VOCALOID2 and its appended version, and it runs without any problems. However, the Rewire function is dead, so I'm using it only as a standalone.
