"See the Moon Smiling" w/Rated Blue

Post by GMaq »

Hi LM friends, and Happy 2022!

I have been extremely busy of late in the Studio and with my AVL development hat on and have much catching up to do!

Here is a blog post of our first released production of 2022. Audio recorded, mixed and mastered with Ardour and Video edited with Cinelerra-GG:

Thanks in advance if you take the time to have a look!

Best, Glen

Nice tune, I like it. :)

I only wonder how Linux was used in this case ?

Haha, thanks!

Good point! Audio recorded mixed and mastered with Ardour, Video edited with Cinelerra-GG... Operating System used AV Linux MX Edition.. The blog post is more studio-centered than Linux centered this time although the software is mentioned at the end.. Thanks to your suggestion I added that info to the OP.. :)

This sounds really professional, both in terms of the performance and the mix. It sounds full, even with just three instruments.

Bonus points for having a dog in the video.

Someone had to monitor the mix. And Glen has a history of forcing his "kids" to be involved in his band. It's sort of like the Partridge Family, if it were filmed in an asian sweat shop.

Thanks!

I've played in trios most of the years I've been playing so I'm used to mixing and setting up things to accentuate what's there. In this particular song the shimmer reverb on the guitar added an ambience that both suited the song very well and also filled up a lot of space in the mix. The same thing can be done with the KX Studio 'ShiroVerb' plugin.

Lol, we did a few Videos in that session and 'Sadie' the dog who is now 15 yrs. old cast herself in every one of them... She is mostly blind and deaf so must enjoy the bass vibes through her feet.. :D

Really enjoyed that. Lovely clean sound and expressive playing.

I have a black german shepherd breed. He's also blind and deaf. It's been a year now since the day he saw and heard me singing naked in the shower.

Hey hey, it's good to hear new music from you. I love the lose, alive feeling of this track. It's a beautiful tune. The mixing is so unpretentious, utterly servant to the performance and the tune. Very sweet!

Nice intimate setting for a nice intimate song!
And I add my love for Sadie too: she's so cute she literally steals the scene :D

Beautiful song! Props to Conner for coming up with that sweet riff. One of those songs that makes me envious that I didn't write it first. And the production is first rate: recording, mixing, mastering, cinematography.

And my goodness, you've been busy! The Bandshed is bursting with projects! I look forward to hearing more stuff ooze out of your pipeline.

Oh dear. That phrasing could be seriously misinterpreted. I shudder to think what non-native english speakers are reading right now from google translate.
