Naked God - At War with Yourself [EBM/industrial]
It's been a while since I recorded any new Naked God stuff, but I couldn't sleep last night and I had this 6/8 rhythm in my head so...

Probably the most Die Krupps-like track you shared so far, or at least bass and drums reminded me a lot of them, which is good in my book! Nice orchestral and atmospheric break too

It wasn't deliberate, and I haven't listened to them for a couple of years, but I totally understand your point! I often find that things I listened to in "my formative years" are popping up once in a while.

Very cleverly done, but rather too 'severe' for my tastes.

Thanks for listening and commenting anyway! Yeah, I recognize that this kind of music isn't for everyone!

Nice work here, I think your harsh vocals have improved since the last Naked God track. The strings are a nice touch too, it's good to hear more since the Christmas track you posted. I've always found Surge quite confusing to use (so many options!), but you've made some very impressive sounds out of it, and also drumkv1.

Hey hey Staffan! What a great song! I love the surgical aggression. That lydian feel always works great. The orchestral sections are marvellous. Great sound, great playing/arranging. You really took to the VPO!

I got a bit hoarse after recording, so...
Thanks, I tried to push the handling of the synth sounds a bit out of my comfort zone, and I had great fun doing it!

Thanks a lot @jeanette_c, maybe you recognize a few sounds from that dance track we are working on?jeanette_c wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 12:33 pm Hey hey Staffan! What a great song! That vintage war footage is fantastic, especially the aerial combat stuff at the end. The music is a bit heavy for my taste, but I can hear a lot of good qork on your part. The string overlay gives the piece a terribly sad feeling above all of the anger and aggression. Very fitting for the subject. War is awful.

Re: Naked God - At War with Yourself [EBM/industrial]
It sure is. All that old war footage (from archive.org) is very sad, but it helps to make war feel more personal. It is about people suffering and losing their lives, persons who ended up in flames, in a frozen ditch, never getting home...
Thans for listening @milo!
