Into the Music

Post by CraigPid »

My wife and I did this song in Ardour and Kdenlive. It's quite poppy in a retro way.

You are great at writing songs! This and the previous ones really fit together!

One thing: The arrangement is cool and low key, but how would is sound with more stuff happening? Maybe some keys, so the verse and chorus are sounding more "different" to each other?

BTW That choir is great!

It really captures a 60s vibe. Interesting choice with the kind of old analogue drum machine accompaniment. The guitars absolutely breathe 60s to my ears. Good playing and processing. I enjoyed the background vocals, opening up the song.

Thank you all for the comments. Just to clarify... Tiffany writes the songs, words and melody pretty much complete. I figure out the chords and create an arrangement and play the instruments.

Nice work - like the harmonising later in the song.

This is pretty good! As always, your guitar and bass work is really solid, and for me it was the most enjoyable part. The voice sounds a bit unsupported to me. Is that footage from the actual recording session with her sitting in front of the computer singing into the mic? If so then I would suggest having her stand up to sing. It is easier to get good breath support while standing. She would also likely benefit from some simple voice lessons, even just an instructional video, because she's not getting all of the horse power her voice can produce. Just a small investment of time to learn some voice technique could pay some real dividends. I did really like the backing vocals. They were performed and mixed really well.

I like this song! Very nice groove, I think this register suits well your wife's voice (perhaps she could even sing some semitones below it) :D
