Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
That is a nice song! The sounds work really well together. The only thing I don't really like is the "acid bass" introduced in the middle.
I could easily see this as computer game music!

Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
As little experience as I have with computer games, I agree there is something about it, that way.
Interesting choice to have the main bass with a little flutter. I like the acid type sound, esepcially the way it builds a counter rhythm.
Also a nice ensemble of drum sounds.

Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
I gussed as much about the acid line and I knew about the drums. The question is: all software? Hardware? Vintage or clone/reimagination? I am almost sure that the 808 wasn't the rd-8, the rim is slightly higher, more what I've heard from the Roland ACB/Zen stuff.

Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
All is hardware except for the mellow zyn-fusion line backing up the Yamaha TX81z. The track was recorded live through mixer. Actually, I have two 808 clones, one is a failed Yocto2 project that I built myself (almost all cymbals don’t work ) and the other is the RD-8 - I must say, the rimshots sound the same to me at recommended resistance values and I love the RD-8. Never tried the ACB stuff.I gussed as much about the acid line and I knew about the drums. The question is: all software? Hardware? Vintage or clone/reimagination? Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
Ah, I stand corrected. Yes, I love my RD-8 as well. I've only played one of the Roland tr-8 or 08 in a store. But I've heard them often enough in videos. I prefer the RD.ambicumber wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:55 pm ...

Quite like this. Sounds like a soundtrack for a platform game. Was that what you had in mind?

Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
I get the "language" you adopted for this track and I think it's quite well done.

Re: Redshift L2 [Electronic]
Nice chillin' track. There are some really heavy overtones to that synth patch, almost like a bell. Really an interesting sound.
