A video...

Post by OccinticLady »

Hi all,
So, thanks (BIG thanks) to all the help I had here, I finally got organised to post one video per week.
Up at five (AM) and at work at six (AM  )...
Every friday, I (try to) post a video.
The latest is "The thunder and the fairy"...also the first time I am seen in the video (maybe that is the reason I paniced)
Here goes: https://youtu.be/CTHVN7nYB4Q
Please (PLEASE?) let me know what you think, I can only grow that way.
Huge thanks...

Great work! I really enjoyed the music and loved the original way to sustain notes on the keyboard. :D

I'm deeply in the ambient mood too lately. Keep up, eager to listen more tracks from you.

@LAM
Hi, thanks. It's a piece that was maturing for a while now.
Any points I can improve upon?
Thank you very much for the feedback

There is always room for improvement, but I can't really point one thing that I didn't like.

You built a nice hardware setup, glad to see you have done treasure of all the suggestions.

I guess you really want a suggestion/critic on something anyway, so here's mine:
the kickdrum is not "perfect", I think you could work more on some FX to blend it more in the mix or use another sample source.

Nice work! I'm envious of your setup, and your playing ability. I still couldn't play keyboards to save myself.
You would have appreciated Louigi Verona's Droning series of ambient work. He used to post here regularly but has recently gone to the dark side of FL Studio and posts on Bandcamp. He used more sequencing than live playing afaik. https://louigiverona.com/files/droning/

Hi, and thanks for wandering down to the basement here to post this!

I love your setup and the clothespins are awesome! I'm not really an ambient connoisseur so I'm afraid I don't have any informed critiques to give but it seems like a really engaging way to make music, keep 'em coming!

Oh, don't worry about that. Half of us on the internet are dogs anyway ... (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_ ... u're_a_dog)

It was really interesting to watch your workflow in this hardware setup. The performance was almost as interesting than the music, and I did quite like the music. You have undersold yourself in your previous posts -- clearly you have more talent and experience than you have let on!

@OccinticLady, what I mean by this is that there is a place for you here on this forum. Here we have people from every continent (except for maybe Antarctica), and from the isles of the sea. We have devoutly religious people on this forum, avowed atheists, and everything in between. We have male, female, and transgendered members. Our musical tastes range from the heaviest industrial metal you can imagine to the sweetest classical melodies. And we are united by our love for music and our enthusiasm for the software we use.

There is a place for you here.

And your music is cool, so let's have more of it. :)

Hey that's really nice and chill. Getting a New Age vibe from it which is a good thing in my book. I like music from Brian Eno, Steve Roach and Jonn Serrie so I am down with this one. Keep it coming :)

Late to the party (as usual).
Very much enjoyed this. The others have pretty much covered everything else I'd say 8)

I like this one too, more spacey and with a retro sounding taste, good job @OccinticLady

I would use more extreme reverbs and modulations on this, but it's just my taste (but it would not sound as retro as it sounds, it's part of the beauty of this). :D
