Adrezonar - Far Beyond Me . feat BUMA
Hi all
This track was created with Renoise ...
Odin2 and Zebralette were used as synths
... Buma also uses Linux
https://soundcloud.com/adrezonar/far-be ... -feat-buma
edit : 7. July
...I made a few changes to the track and
now it should sound better
What do you think?

Thank you very much.
... already heard a couple of times the vocals should be clearer
... but I didn't find it easy to get it that way

Hm, the kick and bass in particular are really juicy. A little louder and it would have shaken my room to pieces.

Very nice "conflict" between the drum/bass and the chiller parts!

I thought the voice was a little quiet in the mix, or maybe the lead guitar was a bit too hot. At any rate, the guitar overpowered the voice when bother were present together. I really like the sound palette of the song.

Yeah, the voice seems to be coming out of the mix a little better now.
I find that mixing is a fascinating psychological challenge. In a work-in-progress the most recent change is usually too loud in the mix and I have to back off on its volume in the next mixdown. It is also really easy to boost your own tracks and neglect your bandmates' tracks in the mix. It takes time to let a good mix settle, and you usually have to distance yourself from the "fog of war" you experience while recording.

Thank you.
for me, working with vocals is new territory and for this I had to throw some old habits overboard. I think that most people build the song around the vocals? here i had the track almost finished and sent it to Buma. he thought up something about it and then sent me the result...
I have now adjusted the volume of the individual instruments a little. the bass drum has stayed that way, but processed differently with the eq. and then lowered the sub from the bass a bit. most of it somehow brought the eqing of the voice ... well, the whole thing is still not perfect, but slowly i think i am getting the track in the right direction
