Wonderful track, a real space journey, love it! :D

Have you ever tried Aiwindows Galactic as reverb?

Edit: If you use Surge you already have it in its FX section (under Airwindows > Ambience > Galactic)

in mix, nobody can hear your screen

Oh that is a great tip! Didn't know about that one, nor the Airwindows plugins. Seem to be MIT licensed, great. Have to check them out, thanks! :)

Excellent music again. 8)
Good to see you're on Bandcamp now. Probably for musicians they are the fairest of the commercial distribution channels.

LV2 versions of the plugins are in development:

Love this spacey piece! Vangelis-style! :D

That is good to hear, I prefer LV2 over VST.

Thank you @Basslint! Yeah, I tweaked some sounds into the mold of the old master. Glad you noticed! :)

I finished the trilogy! These three pieces might be my favorite of all the recordings you have posted here. Certainly in the top 5. (That Kraftwerk-inspired piece was pretty awesome too.) I especially like the pitch-sliding synth in this piece.

Thanks a lot @milo for taking the time! :) And for your kind words.

I am very fond of portamentos, after all, it is a type of playing that is a kind of synthesizer-specialty! :)

I keep listening to all three of these. I found that they are really great while I'm working - I like to listen to something pleasant that doesn't take much brain power to process, so that it's not distracting. These droney ambient piece work really well!

You also inspired me to try Surge, it's great fun even if I have no idea what most of the controls do  ... actually I'm able to make more sense out of it than ZynAddSubFX (which is also great fun). Do you customize the settings in Surge, or do you mostly just use the presets as they are?

Thanks a lot! This is actually the reason why I started the Gate of Aldebaran project 14 years ago -- to make drone music that drowned out the background noise so I could work! :D

I usually start with a preset from a suitable category, then I tweak it. This approach gives me the results I want with not too much time spent on sound programming -- while at the same time forces me to learn some of the settings of Surge.

And thanks a lot for your reverbs, @Michael Willis! They are a big part of the Gate of Aldebaran soundscape!
