SahaaThyva - 04:30 am (LAM remix)

Post by LAM »

Finally I can make a post here.

This is a remix i made of SahaaThyva's LMC #10 submission.

I asked him for a collaboration but i was proposed to make a remix of his track (was my favorite of the challenge 8)), and here it is.

SahaaThyva - 04:30 am (LAM remix)

I used:

Ardour
Helm
Surge
Odin2
Obxd

and various Airwindows FXs + x42 Eqs and Limiters + ACE compressors.

Hope you enjoy it, any feedback is very appreciated. :D

Oh I am getting some great Goa/90s vibes mixed with some original stuff as well as some epic feelings!

The rhythmic intro was great!

The rythm is quite an experiment, I borrowed some ideas from Afro House and put them in a different sound style.

Except for the kickdrum all the percussions are made with Helm arpeggiator to create polyrythms, one of them is also set on random arp mode so everytime the track is played the sequence is different.

I get a very Jean-Michel Jarre vibe from this. It's the mix of this soft, memorable synth brass line with the modern electronics. I like the sound composition. The kick is a little too umimpressive/weak for my taste, though I know that I have this gripe with a few techno tracks I've heard. :) So put me down as a non-techno connaiseuse. :)
All in all, it's one of the tracks that makes me reconsider techno as a genre to listen to and reckon with. So thanks for sharing!
Best wishes, Jeanette

Thank you @jeanette_c, you're right, I was experimenting with compression and limiting, the kick should be more incisive, I'll keep that in mind. Glad you enjoyed it! :D

I enjoyed this track. The polyrhythms at the beginning were mind-bending.
