Another Chill-Out Album

Post by folderol »

I've been busy again :)
This time there is more new material and some other unreleased tracks. However the very last one is, I think, my all-time favourite so is completely unchanged.
It is right here :)

Very well done! Is there some "live" material in there?

Really enjoyed "Ocean" and "Fawn in the mist", but all tracks are very relaxing. :D

in mix, nobody can hear your screen

Yes. There is guitar in both 'Mystery' and 'Night Whispers'. This was hard work, as I hardly ever touch the guitar so my finger pads are soft, and quickly get very sore :( The rest is all Yoshimi.

Very pleased you like it.

Great relaxing stuff! Sometimes it moves into movie soundtrack territory, in a nice way! :) ("Mystery")

It is hard to make relaxing yet still interesting music -- you nailed it.

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks.
Mystery presented a bit of a problem. Although the guitar part at the end was an improv, I had to try this several times before I got something I was happy with. What I hadn't realised at the time was that the guitar had detuned while I was playing. Not enough to notice at the time when I was concentrating on the performance, but a couple of days later when I wanted to tidy everything up and make an audio recording I noticed it then alright!

The answer was to make use of Yoshimi's master fine detune. I had to drop it about 15 cents.

Nice relaxing effort! I liked Dreamer the most, probably because it was the more "minor" of them all.

I also enjoyed the guitar work. I listened to the whole album a couple of times through and thought it was interesting and relaxing, a pleasurable way to spend the lunch hour!

Hi Will!

Another great collection of beautiful soundscapes to let your mind wander in, nice to hear some different touches like the guitar work too! I really enjoy that even with all the 'affectations' of the synthesizer sounds there is a real personal identity and signature that comes through. It is difficult especially in instrumental music without some obvious gimmick to overcome the 'sounds' with your authentic personality or an identifiable unique element but you succeed in this much of the time and that in itself is an accomplishment to be proud of!
