A piece blending warm tones and electronica.

It is the time for dub. :) The sax has a really sweet tone. By itself it sounds somewhat odd. Was this modelled?
There are some lovely synth tones in the break or second part. I like the rubbery, bouncing percussion in this section, as I do like some of the pads or evolving electronic sounds. Beautiful tones.

There is some good stuff in here, but to me it's all too disjointed. As an analogy: I like an easy walk along a riverside path. You've given us stepping stones over rapids!

@folderol

I see the analogy and it does reflect the structure of the piece. The heavy guitar-sounding bits near the end of the middle section surely did not help :) Not sure if I'll keep this one like this although there's something that tells me that the contrast, along with the notion of 'through' as in back to where we were after a trip or some event, applies itself quite fittingly to what so many people are experiencing.

Now that I take a second look at the picture I've chosen to illustrate the piece ... the picture is more about the whole experience, and is not a static representation per se. Sometimes the picture choosing is really at the very end, when the piece is being uploaded to Soundcloud. I should take more care about that aspect.

@jeanette_c

The 'saxophone' I like to use is the one from the now defunct Linplug company, called Saxlab 2. I prefer it over the high quality sampled one from IK Multimedia Sample Tank 4. There are three sends to it, one to the free Voxengo Boogex, which is an amp type of plugin, and two to unique instances of Voxengo's Spatifier. At the mixing stage I added a bit of Panagement (Linux native, was mentioned here by its author) to add depth to the presence.

Thanks for the comments ! Cheers.
