Endless (melodic synth jam)

Hey hey, this is my first proper, live synth jam:
https://youtu.be/RSk1OCb0MZs
It was recorded using three semi-modular synthesizers, controlled by one CV/Gate sequencer, with another non-modular hardware synth used for playing the lead. As you can hear it is not experimental, rather a little ambient, somewhat cinematic or soundtrack-like. If anyone enjoys it only half as much as I did playing, we're fine. :)
Best wishes, Jeanette

Very nice jam. You mentioned it sounded a little cinematic, which is the vibe I get from it, too. It reminds me of Michael Nyman (especially his minimalism-style cinematic pieces). Well done!

This is indeed quite cinematic! The chord progression evokes images of the emotional ending of an 80s movie: I've used this reference before, but a good example is the finale of Black Rain.

My only note would be that it doesn't build up much: the progression seems to suggest something that will get louder over time, and/or be joined by more instruments, while it stays mostly consistent: but this is just because I have a tendency to do crescendos myself (up to the point where I often overdo it :D ), and it does not take away from the track itself, which I enjoyed.

It does. I have used this or a similar progression before and it did include the crescendo and a build-up in instrumentation, not to mention continuing the progression. :) Maybe this is an encuragement to find better performance controls for the next synth jam. :)
Thanks for your kind feedback.

There is indeed a build up, it's just more nuanced than I was expecting: which is not a bad thing at all, of course! I hope my note didn't sound impolite: it dedinitely wasn't my intention, I really did like the track.

Not at all. I took it as constructive criticism of the movement, which I completely agree with. And some kind of control over the sequenced tracks would be the way forward in this field.
