Flow

Post by lilith »

This one took me quite long to finish, cause I had trouble with the bass lines. I think I found a good compromise now between the 1/16th bass and the other variation. I also wanted to make a track without any samples, because I got tired of looking for samples :D .

Not sure how good the synth that comes in at 3:40 fits to the rest. I tried other sounds, but the one I used now fits best imo.

This time I also tried to put in more low end below 50 Hz, cause I think that came too short in my previous tracks,

@jonetsu If you can start with a collaboration track that would be great.

Very atmospheric and groovy as usual! I like the sample at 3:40, it feels like a "synthy" distorted guitar and I think it fits the piece too.

That song had an awesome vibe - I liked it alot! I also liked the synth at 3:40 - I thought it fit in well and added some variety to the sound.

This is a pretty good track. It actually flows very well.

Not sure I understood the practical meaning. Did you meant start a totally new track for collaboration ? Or to add a track to "Flow" as it is now from the stereo output ?

Sorry, this was not clear. I thought starting with a new one, but if you have any ideas what to add / change in Flow that's also fine.

Thanks all for the comments. I let it sit for a while now and maybe change minor things in the future. E.g. someone complained about the snare.

Two thumbs up! This track is well-constructed and well-balanced, and has a great vibe. I love your sound, always, but this one is particularly good. I like all of the sounds in the piece, and the 3:40 sound is maybe the best one in the song. I'll be revisiting this track all morning, I think.

EDIT: I think the snare sound is fine. You actually have a handful of snare-like sounds in the song, and they work well together. The drums remind me of Axel F.

Thanks for listening. Do you mean this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qx2gvHjNhQ0

I know the track, but never realized that its title is Axel F.

That's the one! Not sure how popular that was in Germany, but here in the states it was played every hour on the radio for months and months.

Now that I hear it again, I think there is more variety in your drum part. The part of your song that reminded me of Axel F was the echo-effect drum fill.

Very nice sounds and I love the bassline, very full sounding. The solo in the middle reminds me a bit of "A broken frame" by DM.

This is not the type of music I listen the most, but I found this one very interesting and it kept me listening all the way. I think the whole composition's very well crafted and intelligent. Very nice work.

This is pretty cool. I like the kickdrum sound, and the synth you mentioned at 3:40 sounds great; I'd actually turn it up a bit. Nice cover art too.

Hallo. I thought of replying several times but went on with things to do, one of them being finding a good start for such a project. Ich hab' es nicht vergessen. I have several sketches that are suitable for a project, the problem being in deciding on one. I've already looked at some. When one will be decided upon, I'll put it as 'LM-Project-02' in the 'Virtual Music Projects' section, along with links to the downloadable multi-track files and notes.
