Danny LyriCa - Toxica

Post by hm11 »

* This song is in Spanish
* The initial vision of the song was to make an 80's retro-like soundtrack-type song (What a description lol..), The song has changed a lot after much feedback and after some time of just 'sitting' on it.
* The song is about a young man's romantic struggle with a manipulative woman, that only by the grace of god he was able to get out of. (Straight from the song description,
* Ill provide the translations of the lyrics down below

Please grant me some feedback of this work. A lot of time has passed since i made another song and this one being the product of a planned EP, fits the mood perfectly; that's a big deal for me since not a lot of my songs actually end up fitting the vision. Anyways, I made this using Linux, lots of distros were tried due to some hardware support issues, I was also going through a system upgrade, and I did this using Cockos Reaper.

Lyrics translated:

Of her discord I drank
drunken with smiles

Feeling that dominates,
whats the use of a heart?

when I saw her
when I saw her!
I would not deny, that I fell in love

YaHuWaH!

A Jezebel
that, she was!
at the moment I thought not

Time passed
& I would not deny, that I fell in love

(lalala..)

But I had to realize that..
I’ll lose my head! (headship)

A corrosive sound!
her tongue is a homicide;
danger with a motive; suicide!

And that's an evil that’s unheard of
positive, negative
death seems like a sapphire (jewel)

Run!

Danger when escaping
this living prison
of the fire gusts!
Miss toxic!

Damn insanity!
malevolent apparition!
of the fire gusts!
Miss toxic!

So it was the heart
like the abyss
when your life controls, it invites sin

Todah rabah
Yahushuwah
Yahuwah
Yah

Black and white I am
but today I win because:
I had the eyes to see
You wont deceive me!

Voted "Good" only because there's no "Amazing" :D

This is a good song, and interesting musically. Yours is a genre we were missing on this forum, so I'm glad you are here.

This is so spot on. I enjoyed it. It's good that you recorded all the background vocals. Nice selection of sounds. It would have been even more 80s with more reverb, but I am glad you used those sparingly.

wow thanks! and yeah, on the initial steps of the projects i did think about the "over the top" use of reverb but for this one, it didn't fit well so i dialed it back. I am contemplating riding the fader or rather automating my reverbs on the next track i make. Thanks for the feedback!

Gotta say that I really like your lyrics. The effect you have for that transition at 2:40 is cool too; the droning that starts about 5 seconds before it is great too!
