New song - Save Me
Hi,
We just released a song that I thought I would pass along.
All mixing done in Linux with MusE and friends and maybe half of the recordings done with the same.

I hope you enjoy!

I'm liking this a lot. A nice, soulful performance. Good vocals. The short guitar solo at the end is pretty solid.

Thank you for sharing. Pleasing mix, nice sounds and top notch vocal performances. Very well done.
Not sure if you are looking for constructive feedback, but it's a very long song with the refrain repeated quite a bit--you might consider making the arrangement more dynamic, or adding another part, or a twist to the lyrics to engage the listener more.

Really great quality! The lead singer has a very beautiful voice and I like the backing male vocalist as well. Great electric piano parts, liked the solo at the end as well.

Re: New song - Save Me
Thanks guys for the flowers.
@ufug constructive criticism is always welcome, and reflecting on it, you do have a point. It could have done with another part. It won't happen as it's quite late in the game though. And in fact, there is a "radio edit" where the song is a bit shorter, possibly making a difference.
We are playing this song live and it might very well be that we develop the song further in the future (if live music is ever possible again...)
@Bella, I believe the piano is provided by Pianoteq, not played on Linux though (but they do support Linux, so).
Thanks again!

Re: New song - Save Me
Nice work! The recording and performances are terrific. I'm particularly fond of the
Pianoteq Wurli and Rhodes sounds: they are inspiring!
With regard to the length, maybe varying the second half of the chorus would help?
E.g.:
or some such.
Tres.

There are actually some variations in the last chorus but it might be too little too late.
We will see if we rework it at some point

Wow!
Every part of this is terrific, warm electric piano, perfect vocals and harmony. A top shelf production and great PR for MuSE! Well done, any plans for a commercial release?

Re: New song - Save Me
How Odd. I thought I'd already commented on this, but don't see it either here or 'there'. Anyway, I really really like this. Good song, clear singing with nice harmonising, and sophisticated appropriate instrumental support

Thanks @folderol and @GMaq much appreciated
I wouldn't know about "commercial" release, I doubt I/we will ever make money on this.. But, for pay release, yes. I've got an account on distrokid and this song is going up on Spotify and the likes for the band Norra Glädjen in the near future

Re: New song - Save Me
It's a nice pop song, well rendered. The electric guitar solo though seems a bit out of context in the current pop days where an innovative atmospheric variation could bring an updated feeling about the piece. A short atmospheric drop of some sort instead of bringing the solo, IMHO. Something that leaves some place for the listener to chip in somewhat. A short time of real-time reflection within the piece.
Audience participation, in a way.
Cheers.
Made me think of a short 2-minute piece by Swedish progressive band Isildurs Bane:
"People are afraid"
