Your Sapere Aude piece is quite good. Listening to it now.

Would you be interested to add drums to a piece that I'm creating ? In such a collaborative way that the piece itself could be modified according to your inspiration on drums ?

All right.

BTW, "Designated Landing Area" is also quite good. Nice overall ambiance and mood. I'm not hearing Rush, but I hear Neil Peart in a way, this ability to mix technique with softness and expression.

So let's establish bases. I have a dropbox account where I can put tracks in wav format. Can you load a bunch of wav files into a DAW (Qtractor glaube ich ) ?

Thanks and thanks (because of my Songs) :D

I have Audacity, Ardour3 & 5, Qtractor Rosegarden and Traverso.
Of course, I might use Qtractor as I'm most familiar with it.

Yes, Neil and Terry are my favorite drummers - besides all the Zappa drummers like Ralph, Chester, Chad etc.pp.

OK. BTW, a source for free samples freesound @ https://freesound.org/

Another source of interesting samples at Gowler music. About 2£, as you wish. Lots of movie dialogs, etc... https://gowlermusic.com/

So let me see how to start this ... have no idea at the moment. :)

Do you have a beat, a pattern ? To which I could add ? BTW, when I propose something, feel free to say no, it's not inspiring. It's OK. I have so many jams and improvs around ...

In my propositions there will be drums/percs but only as a working key, not be taken for granted.

How about keeping it kind of simple as a first try ?

I almost always have some, but: how familiar is you in odd beats?
Don't have grooves only. There's a lot of stuff not yet finished, mostly rhythm, bass line plus synths...

Not easy to choose here either. I have now up to 719 'jams' with some on soundcloud. I think we should go by some, of either yours or mine, and find one which we feel it's all right for a start.

I'm rendering one right now and will upload it to sc.

Bitte nicht vergessen: The drums/percs are only for reference to me. This is a stereo track straight out of Bitwig, so please move the volume up. If you like it, the multitrack layout will enable to switch off the srums/percs. If you don't like it, it's also OK, keine Problem ! We'll look for something else.

Also, this piece can go in other directions ...

Now with a suitable picture.

I do not really know the difference with odd/regular rhythms. I play and go along with what a piece needs.

I am not an expert on these technical matters. I go with the flow.

Cool.

Can't see what's wrong with that groove - except I would use more real drum kit sounds.

Re odd rhythms: Designated Landing Area is 5/4. Count it on the forward opened hi hat.

All right - and input from the drums as to where the direction could be taken.

I'd simply play with it, no problem at all. And no counting. Just playing.
