Short forays to nature

Post by psyocean »

Hi, LinuxMusicians! Time for remaining summer and autumn! I hope that not everyone is stuck in the virtual matrix :wink:

I made video from my cycling trips in Lenoblast, 1-4-day hikes. Zelenogorsk, Old Ladoga, Toksovo-Kavgolo, Sablin waterfalls, Lindulov Grove, Gladyshevsky reserve.

Sound design - two author's instrumental improvisations.
Video and music - PsyOcean (Vladimir Kuznetsov)

In midi drafts of tracks was recorded in multitrack mode on dig-piano. Then edited in Rosegarden and final waves in Audacity. Video was montaged via Kdenlive. OS - Ubuntu Studio 19.04.

Very nice! The music is pleasant to listen to, and the nature videos are nice. You live in a beautiful place!

I showed this to my youngest kids at bedtime. They were playing with trains in the living room, and I said, "Do you want to watch a video from Russia?" They both looked up at me with excited expressions and said, "Yeah!" (I don't think either of them has any concept of where Russia is or why it would be interesting to watch a video from there; they just wanted some screen time.) But they really liked it, and it held their attention the whole time. When the video was over they wanted to watch it again. (We are currently on our fourth time through as I type this.)

Milo, thank you, dear!
In last year i carried away by bicycle trips in nature. This has its own music, in the breath of the wind, in the smells of the forest, in the singing of birds, in the sun at sunset and at dawn, during streams and rivers. In Russia the nature is very different, depending on the geographical territory, climatic zone, etc. I’m still exploring my native Leningrad region - the environs of St. Petersburg, heading north towards the border with Finland.

This is one of my most favorite interactions on Linux Musicians so far. Thanks to both of you!

Psyocean: I also like to hike and bike. I am inspired by your videos! Thank you, always, for sharing.

Some very nice scenes there. Music seemed a bit 'Heavy' at first but fitted much better from 2.15
The Yoshimi guy {apparently now an 'elderly'}
