Just finished this with Ardour:

As I'm always interested how people do their stuff, here's also a short video with the track:

Wow Linux and music and no terminal? ;-)
@vimeo Well done and looks professional. Music is also great.

Great sounds, nice arrangement. The screencast was very interesting.

Thanks! Does it make you think about switching to Ardour?

Ardour's audio routing is tempting (and it has post fader sends) but I don't like its MIDI editor at all.

The MIDI editor in Ardour/Mixbus is really a 'step' back 15 or 20 years ago if not more.

Quite enjoyed this. Definitely not mainstream stuff :)
Personally I find Ardour too complex and obscure for the sort of heavily MIDI orientated live multi-tracking I do.

That's funny. I thought this is quite close to mainstream, but if it's not it's even better

Yes, Ardour + MIDI is a pain sometimes. But not because the midi editor is bad or old-fashioned, but because of the midi bugs in Ardour that are currently being solved.

BTW: Is there bass lacking again in the track? Should I add a sub bass to make the low end fatter?

Is it better with the Ardour-6.0.pre0.xxx version? Have you tested this version? https://nightly.ardour.org/list.php

The midi stuff is still buggy. Maybe it's even postponed to Ardour 7.xx. At least this was discussed at IRC. I also didn't try the pre Versions.
