Rated Blue - Heavy Dub Reggae recorded live with Ardour
A live kick at the can of Al Green's "I'm A Ram" recorded with Ardour 5.12, video edited in Cinelerra.
This video is environmentally friendly 'blue' (even better than green!). Much of the lighting in this video was naturally provided by the 'reflect-o-skull' panel on top of my head. Only three colors were used in the making of this Video, the remaining colors were donated to a nearby women's prism... I'm A Ram was originally written by Soul legend Al Green and well covered by Big Sugar and Gov't Mule.

Nice song, never heard that one so thanks for showing me!
A little long maybe but I guess it comes with the territory?
Very well played, do you guys gig anything with this setup? I'm hoping you are =)

Really enjoying your recent work as well.
Thanks very much for taking the time to watch, yeah it's a jam band song so a bit lengthy and probably a bit more suited to a live context, we just learned it recently and were excited to play it..
We do gigs but not nearly enough for my liking, hoping some opportunities will open up in the summer.
Thanks again and keep up the great work on MuSE and your own productions!

That's a good groove. The next one, "You Don't Know What Love Is" is also very good. Try to play at the blues festival this year.

I know I'm in for a treat when you post a song, and this is no exception - never heard this one before, so I hope you realise if I ever do hear the original I'll be thinking yours is the 'correct' one
Now to listen to the rest

The Yoshimi guy {apparently now an 'elderly'}

Hmmmm.... What would be a good Neil Young/Crazy Horse song to cover, one that was not done a hundred times before ?
"Revolution Blues" ?

Well certainly "I'm A Ram" is in no way purely Dub, it is a weird mix of styles and genres, it is Dub influenced in the verses because of the guitar shots on the offbeats and the drums playing half time with the kick and snare beats reversed which is found in Dub Reggae. Obviously pure Dub has unlimited variations and nuances and this song is very heavy-handed and not very nuanced at all but I think what sets this version apart from other versions of this song is the Dub elements.
I'm sure @sysrqer could enlighten all of us to a much greater detail being the resident Dub master... but that's my take on it anyway

Had to laugh, went to see Neil and Crazy Horse a few years ago at Bud Gardens in London and they didn't disappoint with the deliciously loud wandering and ragged improvs, met some friends after the show who were traumatized because they were expecting "Heart of Gold", "Harvest Moon' Neil... Hilarious that people could love Neil Young and not be aware of the multiple band personas
On longer gigs for fun we occasionally play 'Harvest Moon' and follow it up with 'Down By the River' mostly just because the notion that the same guy wrote both songs is kinda funny to me.
