Hi!

A little video tomfoolery presenting a proof-of-concept experiment as a Duo.

You've outdone yourself Glen. Flipping awesome performance. Amazing sounds. Great video. You guys are quite a clan.

That song is kicking and catchy too. For a minute I thought I was listening to to some unreleased fIREHOSE.

Thanks for sharing the details on the pickup too, it's quite a sound! And the, um, Easter eggs at the end.

Must go and watch it again...

great work! Love the rockin' outtro!

I assume the guitar was through the mod into an amp? (I saw the vox behind you).

First class performance and production.
Love the publicity bit for the MOD too.

Thanks for the comments everyone, taking your precious time to watch is very much appreciated!

@ufug

Thanks for reminding me of fiREHOSE, what a great band, I've been Spotifying them as i work today!

@42low,

Thanks for the kind words :D

@ssj71

Yes I personally always use the MOD with a tube amp, the pedalboard used had processing for the guitar on one channel in front of the guitar amp and processing for the Little Thunder's output on the other in front of the bass amp. The Vox amp in the video belongs to a friend and wasn't used, I used a modified vintage Traynor Studio Mate amp (classic Canadian manufacturer of industrial quality amps and sound equipment) which is shown very briefly in a bass/guitar amp stack at the very end of the video.

@folderol

Thanks so much!

Song, performance, and video are very good. It has to get a lot of views.

Was thinking that the lower octave was out of the MOD device - the bit about the pickup cleared it out.

Cheers.

Not pacifically only meant kind. i like Rated Blue's music for real. Fan #1 .... after family and friends? :mrgreen:
If you ever have a gig in the Netherlands (or Belgium) then let me know. I'll be there as audience .... and meanwhile an authographed cd.

BTW. Does RB have a site already? I think you need one. Won't surprise me if a break-true will come once. The potential is there IMO.
I mean this. No kissing a..
Well thanks again! :D

Holy F, Glen! That sounds pretty rad. If only there would be a real bass… That's gonna be totally killer.

And an additional thanks goes to you for showcasing the MOD Duo in a real performance. I wish more devices are built and shipped, that thing is a real gem.
Being creative does not imply being lazy, stupid, or illiterate.

Working in Harrison Mixbus and Ardour on KDE Neon + KXStudio.

Sounds and looks great. Some excellent riffage, too (especially at 2:57). Is there a slight lag in the bass notes coming from that fancy pickup?

wowwowWOW

- that act has a drive, maaan, I can dig that stuff!!

Congrats to Connor & you, this video shows two performers in top shape, the song is building up in intensity in a fashion that is bound to leave the listener enthousiastic at the end. Probably not intending to do (much) more than a demo has doted this take with a rawness that turns out to be a great asset. And tasty it is, too. I really really like it :)

Funny, when I tried MOD as shipped with kxstudio14 on a laptop, it didn't prove too stable, nor did ingen, but the embedded pedal seems to work great, so while I can't buy one, I shall dedicate a bit of time to investigating what makes MOD run well.

Big thumbs up & thanks for sharing

Hi,

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, we have such a great and supportive community here! :D

@magicalex,

There is a very small latency introduced by the processing in the Little Thunder pickup, like much of the realtime signal processing out there (for example the Electro Harmonix B9, C9 organ and keyboard emulation pedals etc) it seems that lower frequencies have a little poorer tracking and since the guitar I'm playing is a baritone tuned B-B the latency on the low B string can be a bit of a challenge. On the other hand I find under normal circumstances the small amount of latency helps to define and distinguish the bass notes a little bit...

The Little Thunder is no replacement for a bass player, however it's a great tool to extend the sonic range of a 2 person band.

Glad my old ears aren't completely finished. It wasn't a criticism, and I'm sure I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't known it was all coming from the same instrument. It sounded great.
