New years cleaning - New songs

Post by spamatica »

Hi all,

so it's the time of year to try to start anew, so I've taken some time to try and put and end to a few songs I've been working on during the last year.

The songs where mostly done by myself but the last one is a collaborative adventure with a guest singer.

Using primarily MusE (the coming 3.0 release) with various plugins, Calf , Addictive Drums, Luftikus and droves of others.

And for good measure here's a live video we just recently released, Linux (and MusE) was only involved in finalizing the audio here but still :)

Have a good ending and a happy new year!

Regards,
Robert

Outstanding work! Excellent all around, you are a very talented musician and writer.

May I ask what leads you to Muse?

I'm one of the old farts who can't let go :P I've been personally involved with the development of MusE for over 15 years. But for good reason I believe, development is slow but for me it's a very good working DAW.
I try others from time to time but get constantly frustrated with their different workflows, MusE is just more logical to me.. I guess it could be my logic being backwards.. and I'm biased, of course.

As I said 'elsewhere' these are all excellent songs very well performed. I don't think I could decide on a 'best' one - fortunately I don't have to as you put all three up

Sounds great and, I think, a little bit "Norrländskt"... :D

Thank you and, japp, from Skellefteå. :)
The last few years I've intentionally been trying to sing with more of my native accent as I find it is under represented. And in doing so I've found it's actually very hard to not fall into the trap of either losing the accent or -even worse- ending up in some Stockholm influenced dialect (as most swedish music is sung that way).

Just out of curiosity, are the verses in Hedningarna's "Vargtimmen" sung in any accent/dialect ? Or are they just Stockholm urban types ?

I guess I've never really listened to Hedningarna, listening to this I feel a little bit cheated, I thought they would be more country side. ;)
Apart from the female parts that apparently are in finnish the male vocals sound to me like a very generic swedish dialect with some old fashioned words thrown in.
