Some of my tracks created with kxstudio

Post by allinitis »

Hello all :-)

Really love working on linux and have been for a number of years now. Never going back to windoze!

I wanted to put up a couple of tracks that I've done, just for the hell of it. I would welcome any comments or criticism!

All recorded and sequenced on kxstudio, using a combination of Ardour, Rosegarden etc.
As ever, I'm excited to see the new developments as they appear.

Great stuff. Very nice arrangements and you have an excellent speaking voice. I liked the twist at the end of 'the glow of isolation', too. Look forward to hearing some more.

Thank you for your comments!

I just did a little (hopefully amusing) mockumentary on the Czecho-Siberian Grass Tiger.
Filmed on a phone and edited with Kdenlive. Voice recorded using Ardour, all on KX of course.

Nice strings, I'd would be interested to know how you did it !
Even if you can't sing well, sing. Sing to yourself. Sing in the privacy of your home. But sing.

Thank you :-)

With Odense and Manimal, it's combination of Rosegarden sequencing the midi, Carla rack running various sample players, including kontakt and spitfire and then all finally mastered in Ardour. As Ardour has been developing I've been working with midi directly in Ardour but with the same sample configuration. I haven't worked out how to run windows vsts directly in Ardour yet but I believe there is a way of doing that by building a specific version of Ardour from the source.

With the other orchestral and piano tracks, it's ardour, rosegarden and an old sc88 pro sound module. The sounds are not as good but it's a lot easier to deal with.

Thanks again for the comments!

Hello all :-)

I've been playing around with ardour and Carla on Ubuntu and have had some success with Kontakt Player running in ardour.

Hope this is either of interest or use.
