Hard Electronic Music.

Postby dednikko » Sun Feb 16, 2014 8:23 am

I tried to fit this track somewhere between Hardstyle, Gabber, EDM, and EBM.

Thanks diizy. I try my best not to suck =)

I am possibly doing a show in June, and I just finally am happy with how one song has turned out. I am going to have it mastered soon, and have the other songs based off of that master fo the show.

I wasn't happy with that version of the song, as it tuns out. I had crazy phasing problems and too much monotony so I reengineered all of the melodic sounds.

If you have the time, give it a listen and let me know how it feels to you. I am going start mixing the test of the EP and get it all mastered soon!

Hey dednikko!

I really like this one! Especially the vocals are really cool. It really adds a great dimension and layer to the beat, and "completes" it. Is it you singing?

I've almost never heard music combining the growling kind of vocals with electronic. As a guy who likes components of both electronic music and more growling based vocal music like death metal, I think the combination sounds really interesting and cool.

3:13~ and on, that passage is really really cool. Personally, I'd like the voice to be a bit more clean and emphasized in that part, just to get a contrast to the raspy and "dirty" feel of the rest of the vocals in the song. But that's just personal preference.

Keep up the great work!

Yes indeed it is! I've been trying to work on my growl/scream tone for a while, and it seems to have worked out all right. The girlfriend likes to tell people it sounds like VNV nation fronted by the vocalist from Lamb of God, which I am completely okay with. I still can't carry a proper tone or tune for singing, and there's proof of that online as well (sigh)

There is a lot of it out there, but most of the vocals are much more heavily processed, which makes it very hard to do live without feedback and making it really difficult to mix. I figured keeping it somewhat natural is better. there are "bands" that I've taken cues from such as Agonoize and Combichrist, but they have some image and message issues that I dislike.

I have been thinking the same thing. Maybe one final take on the vocals once the concert is over with. We'll see!

I will certainly try. Onward and upward, right? 8)

I've uploaded an instrumental version in case you want to hear it without all the vocals.

This version also has the sub bass and sub kick turned up about 2 and 3 db. I wonder if it's too much, but I'm sure I'll know when we play it at the club =)
