Hey hey, Sharp is a new melodic drum&bass track, inspired by the likes of Dimension and Wilkinson:

I am yet unsure, whether some vocals should go with it or not. I'll wait it out.
On the Linux side this track involved Yoshimi for pads, stabs, plucks and one bass layer, LinuxSampler to play the main drums and some of the effects, Csound to create the main drums, riser and effects, as well as Midish, Nama and LADSPA and LV2 plugins for the production and recording.
Hardware used includes Behringer RD-8, Sequential Prophet-12 (pads and some bass and the brass), Waldorf Microwave XT (more bass).

Very nice; I can definitely hear the inspiration/influence in this.

Yes! In my opinion, a female vocalist would suit this nicely. As an alternative, a solo string instrument (violin, cello, or viola) would be cool. Solo woodwind of some sort might also be cool. Any of those could push this up to the next level, I think.

Agreed that a legato voice (human or woodwind) would fit well here. Your drum pattern here is cool. Sounds like hip-hop sometimes.

Yes, I was wondering. There are many bass layers, but they could use some adjustment in the mix or a touch of bass-boost on the main bus. I'll keep that in mind, when I reopen the session for vocals.

Hi, really cool this song, I hadn't had time to listen to it yet.
Modern and retro at the same time, not bad, just a little more bass in the master would be good for my taste . But it's good like that too.
