Just a little 'production' work

Post by forestandgarden »

The story here: a re-discovered musical friend posted this raw guitar sketch with the words "still lacking one fundamental part before I can consider this fully composed", and I took a few sunny hours allowing me to run the laptop, and cut out a riff here and a riff there, to show how fast a few suitable pieces could be developed.

The basic idea had been to micro-edit these parts into re-useable regions, add drums, and offer the result as a DIY kit of regions for the original author, or others, to play with. Alas, there wasn't much interest so far, so I thought I'll at least publish the small demo mix that came out of it. In principle, the option of sharing stems & midi snips to play with, is still there.
some of my stuff is ending up here clyp.it/user/i4p5dng1 , and you can love me at liberapay.com/aloo_shu

This collaboration is great fun, your friend's guitar work was already nice to listen to, and your enhancement made it more so. Additionally I think there's something charming about the fact that you do all of your digital work with solar power.
