Linux pc as audiointerface for win pc

Post by Username »

Hello there,
I'm currently trying to build my own audio mixer for streaming with a raspberry pi 4.
My Idea is as follows:
-Setup a raspie as audiointerface so that I can route 5 stereo channels from a win10 pc to that maschine
-route another audiointerface into jack as well as the win pc
-run Reaper (or maybe Ardour) to mix and route everything in the box
-Reaper can be controlled by a midi controller
-let jack route a few output busses from Reaper back to the win pc
I would like to have at least 3 audio busses for stream, monitoring and discord.

Do you have any tipps & tricks on how to get this working, or how it could be easier?
Thanks for help, best regards

Isn't that for just hosting plugins in another computer?

Yes. Maybe I’m not understanding what the OP is trying to do. :(

Edit: or even more importantly, why? :(

I think it is quite clear what. And why, maybe to put rasp to some place where you don't want to have any high cost hardware, and record something from there.
