I know one other forum with similar problem. And that is caused because address from which forum sends email is something@gmail.com but email sending is done with some other smtp server than google -> gmail refuses them totally

However, because there is also hotmail, this have to be something else.

I've heard more reports recently (independent of this forum) that it is becoming harder and harder to run your own mailserver because big players (google, microsoft) are dropping emails if you don't have a 'trust level' that is so high it's basically impossible to reach as an independent. Reportedly microsoft even *silently* drops the emails rather than returning an error.

This is a bad thing in general: I don't want the internet to be dominated by a few big players, and 'email' was one of the few wildly successful properly federated services so far...

Anyway, back to the issue at hand, I suspect that might be impacting the server that's sending out the forum notifications as well, but still have to verify.
