Then finally found a tutorial that did help, its somebody making a 3D blender logo.
Good one and 'subdivide' is your friend with bezier curves.
A quick search list covering up and coming snags you're bound to run into:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... onstraints

The fellow here has done some cool stuff using both Blender and LMMS:

and don't hesitate to check over at the Blender Artists forum. Lots of helpful folks there and a lot of the same issues are covered in the support areas:

Thank you there is gold there, and I will watch those tutorials.
Maybe one of them will explain my problems, with the array along a path and then apply a curve..

I can't get it working yet, mostly the curve part. Can't complain too much since blender is free, but the manual misses allot of vital information.
( this reminds me of LMMS lol)

I might give up for now and use a straight corridor, and finish the vid.
( then sort out how to use that array modifier along a path and the curve modifier. )

Making those bends is beyond frustrating, I might be even better off to do it the way I was doing it.
Which is allot of work, but at least I understand what I am doing.

That array modifier when I select my bezier curve, I suddenly have (rough estimate) 40 hull pieces.
And no were I can find why it's doing this. Lets say that me and blender don't agree on how long the path is, I made.

Might have to start with something more simple, just a box until I understand those functions. :)

Just did a simple test with an simple project with only one cube.

Used an array modifier and a curve.
All though I am not fully understanding how it works, I am starting to wonder if the example I was shown has 2 bezier curves. Or maybe even more.
I only have one, and remember looking at the blend file which had 4 or so bezier curves.

Also need to play around a bit with the cursor, to see how that influences stuff, and dig into the origin of my model.

Managed to get array and curve modifier kinda working, but that's not gonna work for my case, also stuff happening I can't explain.
Giving up on that way for my vid.
I think it will be possible with array along a path, with allot of tweaking of the bezier curves, but I feel I lost enough time.

Back to copy paste and then move the copy into place.

Make bends by selecting all vertices. then spin, then fill, then extrude.

This way I can control much easier, were the bend starts. :)

Thank you, interesting vids.

Its another thing I miss from Cad programs. If you use a function that uses the origine and and pivot point, the cad program will ask you what points you want to use, while using the command. Not before hand like Blender does it.

If I was rich I would hire a few devs, to change blender a bit (and LMMS) . First on the list would be a cad program like snap function for Blender. I am optimistic this will come though, because I see many people talking about it.
It's weird that for certain snap functions you first need to join the two objects in object mode.

For the spin command in Blender it matters were you place the cursor, because that will be the point around which it will spin. (rotate in cad terms :P)

Could it be I will today finally get to the flying camera through my corridor?

Could it be I am gonna win this fight?

Pipes now follow the bends, did some eyeballing and think I can get away with it, because the camera will fly over it.

At two points the pipes do not perfectly connect, I might also look if I can fix this. basically only need to move a face, and then have the vertices follow

Need to make 3 more floor grids from a plane ( did one) , then add wireframe modifier, then copy rotate a few girders / frames, and eyeball those in place too.

Then corridor should be done. I think I am gonna share the file when done and ask for feedback, because I still feel this could be done better/ smarter.

Array along a path might be the better Blender way, which needs further investigation on my part.

And I am stuck at having the camera fly through the corridor.

Watching one of ducky 3D vids, and I wonder, he does not seem to insert a keyframe.
The way I understand it for now, you need two keyframes at least, one at the start one at the end.
I am too impatient and skip too fast trough the vid or it got lost in the edit of the video.
I remember one of his vids were he does insert a keyframe, one at the start one at the end.

Time to watch that vid carlv posted the one about a camera along a path.
For a quick test I skipped the path part, but will have to do it anyway. :)

Almost there.

To do:
Speed up camera and make it stay inside the corridor.

I hope adding the path can be done without starting over with the keyframing.

Great job !

But, "you gotta stay on the path...maaann..." :D
Screen-34.jpg
So yeah, as per the links above, 'path and path constraints.' If you need to have your camera follow curves and turns, etc... draw out the path and have the camera 'follow path'. It may take a bit to come to terms with, but once there, it pretty powerful. It'll save you the headache-n-pain in the long run.

Also, darn near everything in blender is key frame-able. Even the widgets, you can get creative with that side of things, too.

I'm away for a bit, here's a couple more goodies for the list..

Blender 2.8 Images as Planes

and venturing ever so closely into 'add-on' territory..

Never give up , never surrender.

Blender has weird things. Commands reacting different depending on were you click them in the GUI.

But  :

I've been following this thread with some interest, silently rooting for you to make something awesome in Blender. I'm not disappointed -- this is really impressive for a maiden voyage in such a complex piece of software. Hats off to you for your dogged perseverance.

I notice just one little thing: there some kind of artifact on the reflective surface of the blue brace that has holes for the pipes to go through. It in on the left side, just next to the metal floor grate. It first happens at 0:45, and then affects every cross brace for the rest of the fly-through. I don't see it on the right side, or anywhere else on the other reflective surfaces.

To Milo's point, i noticed that too and apologize for not mentioning it earlier on...

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/late ... pling.html

"Advanced

Seed

Seed value for integrator to get different noise patterns.

Animate Seed (clock icon)

Changes the seed for each frame. It is a good idea to enable this when rendering animations because a varying noise pattern is less noticeable."

Give it a shot and play with the values. Hope that'll help with that.

Back to vacationing for me...

Hey, great work. Sure, I was expecting that movement would speed up a lot and go really fast in some point. :-)

If there is one thing I am not happy with, its the speed of the camera.

Some stuff I need to test, like will making the corridor longer increase the rendering time of one frame ?
The way it is set up, longer corridor more speed.

Will adding some stuff leaking from the pipes increase render time allot ?
Electric sparks?

I want more bloom, but render time ?

Will have to look at the vid and see the issue you are talking about.

First suspect the red jumping lights (emissions) Already turned down refraction to lower the render time.
I remember seeing this more on one side then the other, and that did confuse me.

That link is about the cycles renderer, I used eevee think that matters? Directly into an mkv file. ( this time)

The way I understand it cycles is better, eevee is faster.

I am also battling my amd vid card drivers and Blender.
Blender says: no compatible GPU found for path tracing. (in settings)
This is as far as I understand this, driver related, not hardware related (RX570)

One solution would be to install the closed source AMD vid card drivers.
Another one is, and that's the one I am trying, to install some parts of that closed source driver.
Then in Blender I should be able to use the CPU and GPU to calculate renders.

About you tube:
Vid looks better at my pc, did I see on you tube a HD setting? More to google investigate.
File size at my pc: 138,7 MiB .mkv.

Also when rendering the movie, I used an mp3 of my track, but I have off course a much bigger wave file directly from LMMS.
This should give a better sound. (one conversion step less)

One conclusion, it's easier to do it the Ducky 3 way who has a relative short corridor that loops.
I assume you then do copy paste in a video editor, the 250 frames loop, to make a longer video.
Allot less frames to render, only 250 versus my 6650.

Blender can probably do this but one problem with my model, the red lights reacting to the music.
Unless I take that out, I don't think there is a way to make a shorter loop.

Might need a fundraiser for a threadripper.

Allot to investigate, when I checked the cpu usage, it looked good as Blender was using all cores and treads, but only at 25%.
( Ryzen 5 shows as 12 cpu on the commandline )
