Helix Native

Post by finotti »

Searching the forum I've seen that some had Helix Native running with Wine. Since it's on sale, I thought I would try, so I've downloaded the demo version, but it does not work for me.

I can start it (in Carla), it asks me to login to my Line 6 account, and it seems to actually work. I get a screen with my name in it, but it seems stuck on this screen, with no controls. (It looks just like a log in screen.)

In my search, it seems that those who had it working had an earlier version of Helix Native, so it might be the difference.

Anyway, does anyone have version 3.11 running in Linux? (I'm using wine-staging 6.20.)

Even in sale, too expensive for me, so I don't dare to try. Horrible drama if it works, is nice and can't afford it! Same thing with bitwig demo :-)

I tried it on Ardour 6.9 and Mixbus (32C and plain) using yabridge last and wine-6.22, the plugin is recognized and validated, at start it waits a few seconds then the Helix plugin drawing starts and then all crashes back to command line :D
Seems our two cents and then some are quite safe at the moment ;)

BlueCats Axiom suite

https://www.bluecataudio.com/Download/Products/

is probably the best 'foreign' alternative, it's been working in
Reaper when wrapped by linvst or yabridge in wine-staging versions for a long time,
has amazing capabilities, and has a few of their other great apps embedded,
Destructor, Late Replies and Re-Guitar, and can host 3rd party vst's in it's effect chains.

The Guitar Legends list in the presets will speak for itself. It made me buy new strings :D

The demo versions have brief periodic fadeouts, and the devs don't wet themselves
when you mention linux
