Is Wine-Staging safe to upgrade yet?

Post by GMaq »

Hi,

Still using Wine Staging 6.2 here (happily for the most part). After the series of Windows VST Wine breakages to be honest I have tuned out and fallen behind on where Wine-Staging is at specifically regarding Windows VST Plugins. Anybody know what's happening out there??

Wine Staging 6.4 is still the last version where everything works (everything that's supposed to work under Wine, at least). I've been running the latest wine-tkg versions myself to keep a lookout for things breaking, and with Wine Staging/-tkg 6.13 the only plugins I've noticed that are broken are the iZotope Rx plugins, which just freeze on shutdown once you've loaded the GUI. Text rendering in certain applications was also also broken for a bit starting with Wine 6.9. That seems to work again at least with wine-tkg but your mileage may vary.
