Soundpaint

New sample-based instrument provider, which seems to have nice sounding stuff.
https://soundpaint.com/

Downloaded their free player. It installs and runs, but in UI can't define directory where it would load samples, and therefore can't get free library to try it out. In $WINEPREFIX/users/tavasti/Application Data/8dio/Soundpaint/GlobalSettings.xml most likely would be place for setting file, but don't know syntax. So would need to run this in real windows to get clear how to configure.

Got bit further. From their support, I got config files, and GlobalSettings.xml needs somethin like this:

Code: Select all

  <globalSearchDirsContainerStateId>
    <librarySearchDirStateId searchDirId="K:\Soundpaint"/>
  </globalSearchDirsContainerStateId>
After it, it needed winetricks dotnet452. But still not in working state, getting

Code: Select all

wine: Call from 7BC2869A to unimplemented function MSVCR100_CLR0400.dll._except_handler4_common, aborting
Tried 'winetricks vcrun2010' to fix this, but no change

It looks like those winetricks solved that 'cannot add directory' problem, so no need to edit those configs manually.
