Has anyone used the KORG Collection 2 on Linux?
So as not to revive an old thread, Korg Legacy VST hosting on Linux?, I'm curious about anyone using Korg Collection Triton.

Re: Has anyone used the KORG Collection 2 on Linux?
Hi, I've tried the Triton demo on and off since release, and it never loads,
with some error message like 'no pcm' or 'can't find pcm'.
A couple of people report that older versions of the M1 plugin work,
but Korgs registration system and website are like a bad
road-warriors movie, something always breaks just before you get there.
They both work in old win 7 home premium, so it's probably a couple very dumb
identifiers that Korg software utilizes to let things get rolling. Their website management is also
a bad joke. Took a herculean effort just to sort out an old hardware bundle's remnants
and ID's
Good luck.

Thanks for replying. Did you ever ask Korg about the errors? Maybe ask WineHQ community about it? I agree that Korg's websites can be a hassle to navigate sometimes.

Same here. The Korg Collection 2 didn't work last time I checked. The copy protection probably doesn't like wine or vice versa.
The Korg Legacy 1 Collection works however like a charm.

Seems like the Korg Triton Rack is still the best option.

Re: Has anyone used the KORG Collection 2 on Linux?
I 'finally' have The Korg M1 running in demo mode in Ubuntu Studio in a hybryd wine based on
wineHQ stable 5.0, and copying over parts from a wineHQ 5.8. Demo mode runs 20 minutes
before needing a reload. I paid $25 for it in a sale, knowing it would work in my wife's computer,
and many of the sounds are brilliant.
It seems that Korg products just can't find the linux internet connection,
except when I buy something from their shop!
In terminal output I've seen online, libxcb-util has been mentioned as a troublemaker.
Also, I installed the Bitwig 3.24 demo today, and IT couldn't find a java virtual machine,
although installed according to synaptic. Is linux weird, or are coders just needing more info/experience?
I was able to unarchive the bitwig.deb in /home/me/newfolder, and run it from there,
but it is showing some fundamental design flaws, although improved from 3.x versions
in a few areas important to me, at least.
Cheers
