[MUSEIC] Some 80s covers recorded and mixed with MusE

Post by hippie403 »

I recently recorded some 80s covers with MusE running on a Raspberry Pi 4B single board computer. The idea was to showcase some of my vintage CASIO synthesizers. I was impressed how well MusE works on such limited hardware! Kudos to the developers.

Great!

Sound good that MusE works well even on tiny hardware :)

Oh I think these songs are very cute, and that video for the old Animation hit is awesome!

Making all this on the RPI 4 is awesome, I didn't know it was that powerful!

The song seems a bit out of tempo sometimes, but that is no big deal.

Great stuff!

MusE DAW running on Debian 11 Testing/XFCE4.

Yes I know it has a few issues, unfortunately I can't blame it on MusE or the RPI 4! There are some tempo changes in the original song, it's mostly 115bpm but it dips to 114bpm and 113bpm in some sections. I sequenced and recorded it all at 115bpm, but I sang the vocals against the Rock Band 3 game version of the song. (Needed the scrolling lyrics and pitch guides to help me out, my voice sounds like someone dragging fingernails across a black board at the best of times!) So the vocal is not quite in sync with my arrangment and the audio is not quite in sync with the video, but I thought it was close enough.
