MIDI setup
I am OK about wave tracks. But I have some difficulties with MIDI track.
I want:
- a drum track (channel 10) with GM-1 not note off 5 (I create it)
- a piano track on GM
- a brass track on GM
How do I must setup the midi tracks please, input and output routing? At tjis time I can setup different instrument for each track, except drum track.

Hi!
Go through my tutorial on the MusE wiki to learn more about MIDI tracks and workflow: https://github.com/muse-sequencer/muse/ ... p-tutorial
Best,

Re: MDI setup
Thank you so much Staffan. I never use at this time all this part of MIDI functions. I have an expander and a drum device. I would use it for my MIDI tracks.
My setup:
Expander GM <---MIDI OUT UA-25 MIDI IN <------- Drum device and keyboard.
I can create a drum MIDI track 10. I create a GM1 from GM configuration with "not note off"
I would create several instrumental tracks, with GM configuration, but the problem is that I cannot configure an instrument different for each track. I don't understand how run the input and output routing of a MIDI track. Muse create links of his own. And so the last instrument chosen becomes avalaible for all thr MIDI tracks !
And more the drum track becomes assigned with GM configuration. It seems not possible to have specific GM configuration for each track. Wrong ?

Re: MDI setup
Ok, let's see if I understand what you want...
You have an "Expander", this is a Sound module with GM compatible sounds, right? Typically 16 sounds multitimbral, one sound on each of the 16 midi channels.
So you create a Midi track for each sound you want to play with the expander.
All Midi tracks should be connected to the same "device" (see attachment).
Every Midi track should have its own Midi channel number (1-16) (see attachment).
And if you click on a track and it turns yellow (selected), you can set the GM sound (patch) for that Midi track.
Which of these steps doesn't work?
Or have I misread what you want to do?

Re: MDI setup
I am OK with MIDI synth and with my expander and several tracks.
It remains one issue. My drum device doesn't use note off. So I have to create a copy of GM, GM1, with the setting no note off.
So I need GM1 for drum track and GM for other tracks. At least during recording. No problem during playback
But it seems we can use only one MIDI set across all the tracks. Am I wrong ?
And last, how I can use drum device/keyboard device with MIDI tracks of synth tracks?
Thank you very much four yours answers.

Re: MDI setup
Ah, I'm slowly beginning to understand. I am not used to working with external gear other than keyboards. Sorry!saturnin51 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 7:31 pm But it seems we can use only one MIDI set across all the tracks. Am I wrong ?
You can only have one MIDI "set" (often called "instrument" by MusE) per DEVICE (the "thing" under the "Port" column).
This Wiki entry might help you: https://github.com/muse-sequencer/muse/ ... midi-ports
You mean you have an external keyboard (or drum machine) and you want it to control a soft synth? See my answer here: viewtopic.php?p=127081#p127081.saturnin51 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 7:31 pm And last, how I can use drum device/keyboard device with MIDI tracks of synth tracks?

Re: MDI setup
I apologize for the delay. I solved this issue.
You must create a standard midi drum track and link to Jack-midi-n. Then you add the Simpledrum and you can connect the midi track output to Simpledrum. In my case I have to uncheck all the boxes NoteOff ignore.
Thank you for your help.
