:D Happy to help!

Anyway, I think you should upgrade the QJackCtl! :)

MusE only will play inputs from MIDI keyboards when the track is active for recording!
If you don't activate the track for recording it won't play sounds via MIDI keyboard.
At least that's my experience on MusE. Someone else may proof me wrong.

You don't have to arm for recording, the green circle is enough (Enable input monitoring). But this gets done automatically if you press the red dot (record), so maybe that is what you are thinking of. :)

I can add that this is controlled by a setting: Settings > Global Settings > GUI > Monitor on record-arm automatically.

OK using the keyboard device on a MIDI synth track.

Issue with the drum track because the no note off of the drum device. The link is established but after a quick on every pad, no sound either the view-meter volume is reacting at the quick. I edited the instrument and setup no note off with no success.

What kind of Drum Machine is it?

What happens if you record on a normal MIDI track? Are you able to record? You can change a MIDI track into a Drum track (and back) by clicking the small keyboard icon in the track listing in the Arranger.

My drum device is Band Hero , with snare, hi et low tom, hit hat open, crash cymbal and bassdrum. I am not a drummer but a guitarist. So it's enough for me.
I find a good solution for me. I create a synth MIDI track with a drum midi track. I use the link to use the drum device via MIDI. The Simpledrum setup with no note off and it runs perfectly. So I can use a normal GM for my other midi tracks.

It' a pity I cannot use the sounds of Simpledrum with my drum device!

Thank for your help.

This model has a MIDI in and out. I just add power 3V.
