MusE 4.0pre1 released

Post by spamatica »

MusE 4.0pre1 release November 15, 2020

2020 is drawing to a close, the world is upside down, it is high time for a new MusE release to at least do our part in brightening the day. Apart from the usual bunch of bug fixes and improvements the most prominent new feature is the new tabbed UI with docks! By default now with a dark theme. Looks cool and works great! Do try it out and let us know what you think.

As this is a pre release, please take extra care in reporting issues to us.

A very condensed list of other changes very loosely ordered:
* Lots of new icons
* More customizable colours
* Reworked mixer strips
* Menus rearranged to make more sense in new UI layout
* Added more shortcuts
* New: Add new toolbars to replace the separate transport window.
* Fix: Issues with saving window geometry/state.
* Add: Refresh function for the midi Scripts menu.
* Fixed bug #853: Crash in infinite loop in latency code.
* Add: Draw marker/position symbols as labels in the position toolbar.
* Add: Show index of active part in title bar/tab in multi-part editors.
* Settings > Midi Division fixes: Full re-work of grid raster and snap system
* Wave Editor now has Snap to grid
* Fixed crash in #842 extending parts to the left
* Pianoroll: Lots of improvements including vector drawed piano keys and tooltips with note information.
* Midi import/export improvements, including key signatures supports 'minor' keys as well.

Awesome! You should all feel proud of your work!

A lot of great things has happened with MusE in the short time i have worked with it (1,5 years I think). It is an incredible tool for making music.

Thank you all very much!

Great news.

I'd like to know, is there an option to change MusE language? Not just to run with LC_ALL.

I don't think there is a persistent setting but there is the command line argument -l
muse4 -len
For standard english
