Hi,
I have MIDI drum files. When I import them they are placed on a new Midi track.
I cannot drag them to a Drum track (wrong type).
Is there any way to get Midi data from a Midi track to a Drum track so I can use the Drum editor?
What is really the difference between a Drum track and a Midi track except the editor?

Re: Importing Midi file to drum track
Click on any Midi or Drum track's icon column in the Track List in the Arranger,
and a menu will pop up which lets you change the track type to the other kind.
HTH.
Historical note: In Werner's original MusE-2 (now called MusE Evolution in the attic repo)
the editor could be instantly switched to either midi or drum view with the click of a button.
I've been toying with ideas on how to accomplish that with our MusE-3(4). All on the back-burner priority of course, along with a lot of other stuff...

Re: Importing Midi file to drum track
Hm, MusE is supposed to automatically detect what is a drum track when importing.
If I recall, it checks if the track to be imported is on channel 10.
Otherwise it assumes it is a midi track, since there is really no other way to distinguish them.
Are these drum file tracks not on channel 10?

Re: Importing Midi file to drum track
I investigated, and only some of them are. The ones that are on channel 10 are correctly imported as Drum tracks. The other ones I can change. Thanks!Tim E. Real wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 1:00 am Hm, MusE is supposed to automatically detect what is a drum track when importing.

Re: Importing Midi file to drum track
Maybe we should change it to an 'are you sure?' question instead of flat out refusing. Channel 10 is often right but definitely not always.
