[SOLVED] Handling of 3/4 time sig
Opened a new song.
Changed the time sig to 3/4.
Created a part.
In the piano roll I selected Snap: 1.
But when I insert notes they still seem to be whole notes of 4/4 ie 4 x 1/4, not 3 x 1/3.
Half notes are 2 x 1/4 (should they be 1/4 + 1/8?).
See attached screen shot.
Am I doing something wrong, is it a bug, or does the snap settings not handle other time signatures?

Re: Handling 3/4 time sig
I am not a Muse user, but on paper and with every sequencer I have ever used a whole note always whole note and a half note is always a half note. If you want a full measure of 3/4 you want a dotted half. If you want half a measure of 3/4 you want a dotted quarter.

Yes, you are probably right, it is some kind of misconception on my part. Thanks!thumbknuckle wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 3:04 pm I am not a Muse user, but on paper and with every sequencer I have ever used a whole note always whole note and a half note is always a half note. Re: Handling 3/4 time sig
I believe when placing new notes the 'Snap' box value comes into effect. If you want half a measure of 3/4 you want a dotted quarter.
It determines the length of new notes.
Drop that Snap box down and select an appropriate snap value such as dotted quarter.

Re: Handling 3/4 time sig
Tried this too because I did not use 3/4 with MusE yet. At first, I also was baffled, but thumbknuckle is perfectly right; one note is 4x 1/4, no matter if the signature is 3/4 or 4/4. The only thing close to a bug could be the lack of snap=3_4ths, but snap=4 (4ths) is just fine. A snap selector entry of "1.3333" or "4/3" would cause far more confusion than relief
