ADAT connection between FOCUSRITE SAFFIRE 26 & TASCAM DM-24

Post by picrard »

Hi,

could someone help me with my problem,
I have a Focusrite Saffire 26 Pro I/O Firewire card,
which I have connected via ADAT with a Tascam DM-24 audio mixer.

The problem I have, I get output from the ADAT interface of the Soundcard to the mixer, but no
audio from the mixer to the Saffire??? I'm using jack with FFADO firewire driver...
Does FFADO support the 2 ADAT interfaces from the audio card, and if yes,
does someone have an solution???

I think that this is no sync problem, because I have tested both syncronisation through
ADAT and through Wordlclock, both was a success...
the Tascam DM-24 accepts the clock from the Saffire, but on the inputs of the soundcard
I get no signal from the mixer???

Thanx for help!

Should be supported. Did you check with the ffado-mixer utility if the routing is set up right on your Focusrite?

For the record, I own a Saffire Pro 10 IO but never used it with ADAT and another ADAT device (not even sure if the Pro 10 IO does ADAT, think it does).

hm... the Saffire Pro 10 I/O does only have 8 analog in and a SPDIF (8+2)

here I have uploaded a Video(but sorry, it's in german),
to show you what's the problem.

Maybe someone has a solution?!?

oh oh oh ... sorry for that, but after hours of testing an frustration

I've found out the problem.. one of the !new! ADAT cable where broken!!!

arg ...

now it runs completely !

I've used another cable for the connection from the Tascam to the Saffire .. it works 100%
The other ADAT port, too. I've testet it and it works all the 26 inputs work, I think outputs as well, I've don't tested them...

SOLVED !!!
