Multiple Sound Devices (1010LT)

Post by ehidle »

Hey all. I use Ubuntu Studio / Ardour with a single Delta 1010LT card, and I'd like to add a second one. The last time I played around with multiple devices, I couldn't get it to work because it seemed Jack only wanted to look at one card at a time.

Does anyone know if progress has been made to pool multiple sound devices together?

there's a discussion about this in the jackaudio mailing list. If you have netjack, you can use alsa_in and alsa_out which are intented for linking soundcards which cannot be sync'ed via h/w cabling. Here, netjack is not necessary but the accompanying tools alsa_in and alsa_out are what you want.

Haven't done that in some time but you can get 2 cards working at the same time in jack. IIRC you had to add the second card in .alsarc or something like that. Search a bit on the alsa site.
