Networking question: DAW on one laptop, OBS on another
,
After watching this 'ere Hop Pole Studio's video - Live stream your DAW through OBS - I decided to have a go at using a network to get the sound from Reaper on one laptop to OBS on another.
I currently use two audio cables from a UMC1820 to a s212 which massively increases the instances of me walking into/tripping over cables.
I'm sure that reduced tripping probability is just one of many benefits that ditching solid cables for network 'magic air cables' would bring.
However, I haven't the first clue where to start.
I've had a look at SSH and suspect that's probably the answer but don't know how to implement it for this sort of thing.
Does anybody out there know how to do it?

I don't know that SSH would be the best alternative, it takes time to encrypt the data and it does it block-by-block, so I would suspect your audio would get the jitters...

Re: Networking question: DAW on one laptop, OBS on another
Thanks @scott.thomason and @j_e_f_f_g,
I've put this on a back burner that's so far back it's almost come all the way round and is perilously close to burning my bum.
A back-back burner?
My main laptop should be able to handle OBS and Reaper once I've got the relevant internal audio routing to work.
But that's a very different topic.
Anyway, thanks again for your comments/suggestions.

I have a dedicated DAW in the studio that sends multi track to another PC running OBS. If you decide to go that route in the future I made a video] about setting things up. https://youtu.be/QHxPMcTfJ4A
