The Loop
OK, I'm gonna get the TRS balanced cables tomorrow and see if the hissing is gone.
My crystal ball tells me:
WIth a balanced cable there will still be a ground loop. But the audio signal doesn't use the shield, so you will have no noise.

Please report if it helped.
Well shit, it was the ground loop after all. You were right, I was just thrown off by the fact that it was fine on my laptop, but after that diagram I understand what a ground loop is. There's some faint hissing still, but that is the problem of the JBLs and their built in amplifiers. I can live with that.

Those TRS balanced cables are strangely thin though, compared to my unbalanced mono ones. But hey, as long as it works.

Anyway, thanks all for the help.

The unbalanced cables are probably instrument cables that can be used on stage where people walk on them, so they are thicker, while the balanced TRS cables are mainly used in racks.
