Midi over BTLE

Post by AlbertoZ »

Hello, i sustained a project on kickstarter about the "recorder 2.0":

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/88 ... einvented/

I received the instrument and up to now I've lot of fun with the app they made for smartphone using the BTLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to run some instruments based on soundfonts.
So far so good. But I'd like to connect to my linux PC to use it as a midi controller. The device is recognised in the list of bluetooth devices but the OS bluetooth interface keeps telling me "not configured". It seems that I'm not able to pair the device with the PC.
Does anyone has experience on this kind of connection (BTLE) in Linux?

Update (just for future reference).
The Midi over Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) is now working fine on my system (Mint 20.1). The recorder (of my previous post) can now be used as a midi controller (and that is fun :D ). It appears in jack as an ALSA midi device called re.corder. What I did is to follow the instructions reported here:

https://tttapa.github.io/Pages/Ubuntu/S ... BlueZ.html

by updating it to the relavant package available nowadays (BlueZ 5.58)
A screenshot of myself playing pianoteq and Bazille with the recorder :D
