Hello
Some facts about the test.
1. I writing all i know.
2. I don't have this interface anymore.
I want to evaluate the compatibility with Linux Mint. Here is the test result:
My opinion for compatibility interface with system Linux Mint: Negative
My test:
Interface: Audient ID14
Speakers: Rokit RP6 G3
Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-AD700
System: Linux Mint 18.04-19.04 (I don't know which one system)
Hardware: Ryzen 5 1600 (or 7 1700), B350M Mortar (I’m not sure)
-Plug & Play works.
-Crackling noises when starting the system
-As long as you don't touch your system's sound settings, the speakers and headphones work.
-If you touch it, you need to restart the system. It doesn't always work.
Thank you for read.

Hi! I have Audient iD4 and had the same issues.
I had found advice in the M2 thread that helped me fix having to restart the system issue:
hope this will help you too.

(this is for the /etc/pulse/daemon.conf file)puleglot wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 3:26 pmThe device reinitializes every time the sample rate is changed. This results in a 2-5 seconds lag. So it is better to set some fixed rate (default-sample-rate = alternate-sample-rate) and disable avoid-resampling.knillenhower wrote:i also triedbut that led to regular crashes of the device (LCD meter froze and no sound at all).Code: Select all
avoid-resampling = yes
This device needs implicit feedback which is currently not automatically detected by alsa.knillenhower wrote: so now the device almost runs perfectly, the only thing left is minor cracking on sound output when moving the volume slider on some applications (happens only on some files, really strange). but this is a minor issue for me.

What's your computer configuration?
I have Audient iD4 actually and I don't have any issues. My [TEST] coming soon.

Not sure if it makes any difference but I'm on Pop_OS and had the same issue on Manjaro and Garuda. Here are my specs:LikeLinuxMint wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 1:14 pmWhat's your computer configuration?
I have Audient iD4 actually and I don't have any issues. My [TEST] coming soon.
I also have the following:
- motherboard codec;
- Asus Xonar DG;
- Nvidia HDMI audio thingy;
All of them disabled either in bios or PoP audio settings.
I was doing no additional configuration and using default pulseaudio setup. Changing the
Code: Select all
default-sample-rate = alternate-sample-rate
I was looking towards applying some of the settings from this article but not sure if this will make any perceivable difference or affect my system in a bad way, will jsut make sure to backup the pulse daemon.conf:

I'm glad you had no issues with he iD4 as I'm loving the device myself, and chose it based on being class-compliant and fully hardware-configurable, but the issues I had with it weren't mentioned anywhere and hard to troubleshoot (took me a month to randomly stumble upon this forum and the saviour post in the Motu M2 thread).
