Korg Kronos vs. Yamaha Montage vs. Roland Fantom

Hi all,

I'm considering buying a workstation for quick inspiration and improvisation without using a PC. After many researches I prefer Roland Fantom 8, because of it's easier workflow. But I would probably be happy with the others too. My big question is, wich one is more usable or compatible with the linux platform. Most important for me is MIDI-Out and In via USB, but I also like to remote control the DAW. Is that possible?
Or is it better to forget the idea with the extern workstation as instrument and use a good Master-Keyboard for controlling the DAW and work only with VST instruments? Do somebody made experience with one or more of these workstations? What is possible, what not?
