soundcard with sof-firmware and Jack

Post by buscon »

hi,

I have a Carbon Lenovo x1 with Linux Mint and the Kxstudio mirrors.
The internal soundcard needs the sof-firmware to work, here are some references:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Le ... n_7)#Audio
After following this guide, the soundcard works with pulseaudio but not with Jack.

When I try to start jack (using Cadence, but I get the same error using the command line), here is the error I get:
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: Acquired audio card Audio0
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: creating alsa driver ... hw:sofsklhdacard,0|hw:sofsklhdacard,0|256|3|44100|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: configuring for 44100Hz, period = 256 frames (5.8 ms), buffer = 3 periods
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: ALSA: final selected sample format for capture: 32bit integer little-endian
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: ERROR: ALSA: cannot set period size to 256 frames for capture
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: ERROR: ALSA: cannot configure capture channel
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: Released audio card Audio0
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: ERROR: Cannot initialize driver
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: ERROR: JackServer::Open failed with -1
Tue Jun 2 20:39:23 2020: ERROR: Failed to open server

I tried to set the frames to all possible size, but I get the same error. I guess it is a driver related issue.
Maybe anyone with the same computer/soundcard managed to run jack with it?

Thanks.
