Scarlett 18i20 gen 3 / 18i8 as ADAT master?

Post by lapsio »

Hi did anyone use Scarlett device with hardware routing for ADAT on Linux? I think it'd be also applicable to gen 2 but idk if they behave the same way.

I mean i know hardware routing is not controllable under linux but it does persist so i can basically set it up once and for all and then use it on Linux like i do now (in fact I have windows VirtualBox VM with USB passthrough to reconfigure it without reboot)

The question is - is it the same for ADAT? i mean do ADAT settings persist across device "reboots"? Because i did notice that not everything works in class compliant mode or at least not everything persists between reatarts. One of those things is Talkback function which does not work on Linux at all (nor Android etc). It stops working when USB connection gets activated on non-windows machine.

So does anyone know if Scarlett will change ADAT mode in class compliant mode or something like that?
