FFADO with saffire LE

I'm looking for suggestions to getting this to work well in ubuntu studio. The main problem i'm gettting is there's too many frequent xruns on an interface that is supposed to be fully working for ffado.

I've tried:
1. stopping all instances of pulseaudio through systemd --user
2. running with or without ffado-dbus-server
3. disabling realtime scheduling
4. changing periods/buffer higher
5. changing frames/period

Is there something i'm missing about setting up ffado to work with the saffire LE ?
